The app has no advertising. Learning progress stays on your device unless you choose a native cloud backup. Group Play processes temporary room data, and limited diagnostics help us find crashes and important app failures.

Learning progress on your device

Your lesson, language, learned words, quiz results, badges, and other learning progress are stored locally in the app or browser. Clearing the app’s data or browser storage can remove this local progress.

Optional cloud progress

Cloud progress is optional and available only in the Android and iOS apps. If you choose it and sign in, the app saves selected learning progress through Google Play Games on Android or Game Center on iOS. The saved progress includes your learning mode, lesson and language, learned and failed word identifiers, scores, quiz totals, read verses, badges, progress timestamps, and review-prompt use count and timestamps. Device reminder settings and the local practice-day ledger are excluded.

Turning cloud progress off stops new uploads but does not delete a save already held by Google or Apple. Android and iOS cloud saves are separate and do not sync with each other. Their services may process account, player, analytics, and diagnostic information under their own terms. In particular, the Play Games SDK initializes when its Android plugin loads and Google documents its Play Games Services data collection.

Temporary Group Play data

Group Play uses Cloudflare services to run a live room. The room stores the nickname you enter, room code, temporary member and session identifiers, hashed join and reconnect tokens, answer history (choice, correctness, points, and response times), scores, and connection state. A live socket also associates its connection IP address with the temporary member for abuse controls. Use a fun nickname rather than a real name.

Room records are configured to expire after 30 minutes when finished, after 90 minutes when inactive, and no later than 6 hours after creation. Those periods describe the app’s active room storage and are not a guarantee about Cloudflare backups or security logs. Temporary reconnect information can remain on your device until it is replaced or you clear the app or browser data.

Before joining, Cloudflare Turnstile checks for automated abuse. It may process the connection IP address, TLS fingerprint, browser or app user agent, and requesting origin for security and service improvement as described in the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Crash and diagnostic reports

When diagnostics are enabled, the app sends limited crash logs and diagnostic data to Sentry through its European ingestion service. These reports are used only for app functionality: finding crashes and important content, audio, storage, and Group Play failures.

Reports may include the error type, a fixed app error code, app file and function names with line numbers, app release and build, operating system and device model, and a short allowlisted action, screen, or mode breadcrumb. Native crash reports may include binary image and debug metadata needed to identify the failing app code.

Before sending a report to Sentry, the app reconstructs it to exclude:

• names, email addresses, account identities, room codes, answers, lesson input, and authentication or session tokens;
• cookies, request bodies, headers, local storage, arbitrary extra fields, and URL query strings or fragments;
• screenshots, view hierarchies, attachments, console logs, session replay, performance traces, profiles, and automatic session tracking.

Sentry necessarily receives connection information while accepting a report. The Sentry project is configured not to store IP addresses or geographic information. These diagnostic events are not linked to an app account and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Sharing and service providers

We use Sentry for diagnostics, Cloudflare for Group Play and its join verification, and Google Play Games or Apple Game Center for native cloud progress. We do not sell personal information.
